The team gained a better understanding of launch process and test range. The team also got to handle rocket components and talk to experts.
Accepted Into NASA Student Launch Competition
After reviewing the team's proposal NASA has officially accepted the team into the NASA Student Launch Competition!
Submitted and Presented Our PDR
Preliminary Design Review was submitted and presented to NASA
Subscale Build
As a team we built the subscale launch vehicle and payload.
Subscale Launch
Successfully launched our subscale rocket at the Valley Aerospace launch site. This rocket was 2/3 the size of our full scale rocket design.
Submitted Our CDR
Critical Design Review was submitted and presented to NASAÂ on Monday January 24th.
Full Scale Build
As a team we built the full scale launch vehicle and payload.
Full Scale Launch
Successfully launched our full scale rocket at the Battle Park launch site.
Competition Launch
Successfully launch our full scale rocket at the NASA Student Launch Competition in Huntsville, Alabama. This made us the first JMU team to compete in the competition.
